American Airlines Frommers Promotion
What We Did
Our partners at The Marketing Arm reached out to us to help their campaign efforts to introduce and promote the integration of Frommers informational content on the American Airlines website. We set our sights high and developed a microsite intended to simulate a travel itinerary to one of five different cities, allowing the user to view information about selected landmarks, restaurants and activities in their selected city.
How We Did It
The microsite made use of Frommers’ XML feed to integrate their content on the destination cities attractions and accommodations. We used this data with the GPS coordinates to show the destinations through simulated coin operated binoculars overlaying a Google Street View of the destination to give a virtual tour of the area including the selected landmarks. Easy social media sharing and in depth analytics were key features in the development of the site.
