Rich Media website developed to showcase products for premiere hockey equipment manufacturer.
A premiere hockey equipment manufacturer and long standing client of iwerk needed to add a range of functionality and interactivity to their public facing web site in order to enhance user experiences. The web site also needed to showcase the entire line of skates, equipment, sticks and branded apparel. The company wanted their site to create a community where hockey fans and enthusiasts come to learn, share and discuss everything hockey.
Working within their established branding look and feel, we developed a new database driven web site. We designed a series of Flash elements featuring NHL stars that endorse their products and implemented throughout the site to build fan excitement. We populate content for the flash elements from generated XML files referencing the database.

We developed a registration form to allow visitors to sign-up for advance notice on new products and promotions. Also included in the re-design was a message board for the fans to discuss equipment and other hockey-related topics. The forum also gives staff a place to post and easily updated news, press releases, contest information and FAQ’s. We created a fun interactive area where visitors can download branded computer wallpaper designs and screensavers along with a series of electronic postcards that can be emailed to teammates and friends.

We incorporated a database of the company’s dealer network along with a dealer search function that allows users to search for the stores nearest them.
The company’s marketing department has gained valuable consumer insight from this forum that may impact future product and branding strategies. A content management system (CMS) is at the heart of the new web site giving staff total control of their company wide data. Revenues have increased. A community of hockey enthusiasts are now communicating on the web site and are able to associate this manufacturers brands and products with their dedication to the sport. Product development and marketing teams are able to get instant feedback from consumers as a result of the site, greatly reducing costs associated with the development process.
