Premiere NHL Goalie equipment manufacturer tracks entire business through enterprise-wide custom software.
Develop an enterprise-wide custom software application to manage the business and track the complete life-cycle of manufactured goalie equipment.
This manufacturer’s products full life-cycle happens in one building, from R&D to shipping. The company asked iwerk to create an application that ties together their order entry system, manufacturing process, order tracking, shipping, accounting, returns (RMA’s) and CRM (customer relationship management).
iwerk analyzed their entire business process and created an application to track business from order inception to delivery, which includes material moving through the cutting press or hand cut, embroidery application, stitching, lacing gloves, etc. The system accounts for both retail stock and custom orders. Each station’s individual job ticket is linked to each employee in order to track productivity and accountability. Inventory is monitored and updated through the production life-cycle.

After each product is built, it is sorted and stored in bins with like items and the product inventory is updated. As orders are filled, the staff pulls items from these bins to package and ship. To save on shipping costs, the system recognizes when different orders are placed by the same customer and groups the orders together.

The application’s billing component creates invoices, records cash receipts and generates reports on customers, inventory, sales and receivables. It also handles tax and currency conversion for the US and Canada.
The manufacturer has greatly increased productivity of its employees, since the software tracks the performance of each employee through the production cycle. The company is able to create and fulfill customs orders faster, without packing and shipping errors, as the software precisely tracks the status and fulfillment of orders. The company has reduced accounting errors, and has greatly improved the accuracy of its financial reporting as a result of the software applications.
