Custom project tracking software improves mechanical contractor’s efficiency, vendor coordination and bottom line - $1 Billion in managed projects to date.
In 1998, we were approached by a company that needed a project-tracking program to efficiently handle their large-scale projects. iwerk developed a custom desktop application, Project Tracker, that gave the client the ability to input and track all details related to individual projects. Because Project Tracker was developed as a desktop application, it was installed on each user’s computer. Project managers use the application both on- and off-site and then sync up their data at the end of each day.
Upgrade Project Tracker to a web-based application. In addition, create a web-based custom application for tracking budgets associated with the company’s bid process.
In 2006, iwerk developed the new Project Tracker application on the Microsoft .NET framework. This powerful, flexible web-based application gives managers access to real-time data from any computer. Added security is another big advantage of the .NET framework. Roles and permissions are easily set for each individual to control access to different areas or subsets of data. Upgrades are implemented in one location, the server, instead of individual computers. The new application that we developed, Budget Tracker is also web-based and uses the same interface as Project Tracker. This application gives new business managers a way to collaborate, track vendor bids and organize collected data on each project proposal.
Project Tracker is embraced by the project managers from its introduction and has become an indispensable tool for the company and continues to evolve with its upgrade to a web-based environment. Listed below are some statistics for Project Tracker:
- Used daily by 50 project managers
- 2500+ subcontractors and/or vendors database
- 1860 completed projects
- Manages more than $1 billion in project revenue
