Web-Based Project Management application allows Tier 1 auto supplier to easily track Communications Department assignments
Help leading automotive supplier improve project tracking and collaboration for their Communication Department.
We determined that Microsoft Project was too cumbersome and did not match their preferred methods to organize and track assignments. iwerk developed a custom web-based project management application on the Microsoft .NET platform that is perfectly tailored to their current needs with room for expansion. Project managers and team members are given varying permission rights to control access to sensitive information. Additional restrictions were placed on external users to limit access to sensitive project data (budget, contacts, etc.).

Some of the other key features of this application include:
  • Microsoft .NET platform
  • Contacts database
    • internal and external contact info
  • Document management
    • documents associated with projects at task level
    • check-in and check-out features
    • versioning control
  • E-mail notifications
    • sent when tasks are entered, assigned and completed
    • sent when deadlines are nearing or have passed
  • Project cloning
    • start new projects with same details as another (contacts, tasks, milestones, etc.), useful for replicating successful projects that occur on a regular basis
  • Project archiving
    • close and archive completed projects
  • Site-wide search
    • search for projects, tasks and documents
Productivity at the company greatly improves, which directly affects bottom line profits. Time spent managing projects decreases, number of employees involved in project management decreases, so that they may be redployed more effectively. Projects are more efficiently managed, which reduces project costs.
